Legal Advocacy 

All services are 

FREE & Confidential

The Legal Advocacy Program offers

  • Crisis Intervention

  • IMMEDIATE assistance filling out and filing a Petition for Temporary Protective Order

  • Step-by-step guidance through the judicial system

  • Assistance scheduling a hearing time to appear before the Judge to request the order

  • Attending TPO hearings with the client

  • Files the order with the Clerk of Court and Sheriff’s Office.

  • Information and referral to appropriate agencies and/or programs

  • Provide Community Education

  • Accompany victims in all court appearances

  • Makes referrals to Georgia Legal Services for the 12 month order if needed

The Children’s Advocate:

  • Advocates on behalf of the children 

  • helps children register for school

  • holds support groups, including self-esteem, anger, feelings, good touch/ badtouch, peer pressure and more.

  • leads activities such as arts & crafts and board games

  • offers other fun and educational activities

  • organizes kids events throughout the year

  • provides tutoring

Emergency Shelter

  • Available for victims and their children  24/7 

  • Provides transportation to work and school

  • Provides nutritious meals/snacks:

  • Provides clothing if needed

  • Provides hygiene products if needed

  • Provides school supplies, etc. if needed
